“Where sheep and shepherds once lived – historic insights and breath-taking views.“
The historic sheep farm, which once belonged to the Frauental Monastery, consists today of the lovingly renovated shepherd’s quarters and sheep-shed.
Not only the view from the holiday apartments onto the landscape is breath-taking, also the sight of the roof structure of the historic sheep-shed is stunning. The trees for the freely visible roof beams are proven to have been felled in 1691. The shed was renovated in close cooperation with the heritage conservation agency and turned into spacious 4-star maisonette holiday apartments.
Our guests can meet to talk or play games on the ground floor of the sheep-shed or they can cook together in the ‘Hirtenstube’ (shepherd’s parlour). A spacious wellness area invites one to relax and recharge the batteries. What was originally a sheep-grazing meadow is now an eye-opener for the guests – the view from the patio into the valley.
Original historic shepherd’s wagons are now a play-and-adventure ground for children.
The historic sheep farm lies above the village of Frauental, a district of Creglingen in the scenic Tauber Valley.
The historic towns of Würzburg and Rothenburg o.d.Tauber are ideal goals for a day-trip excursion.
